3.8 : SCAN’R Output file

If an output file is specified, SCAN’R writes the measured parameters to

the output file. The output file is a tab-delimited file that conforms to the

format selected by the Output Format window (section 3.6.1).

The ability to provides detection parameter sets provides SCAN’R with

two important applications: 1) it can be used to generate call parameters

that can be used for bat species identification. 2) it can also be used to

compress and translate Time Expanded (TE) or Full Bandwidth (FB) de-

tector recording into a storage format that is compatible with the ZCD

(zero crossing detector) format that is employed in AnaBat

/Analook

This second function will allow mixed detector surveys by ensuring that

all results can be analyzed and archived to a common parameter format.

The output format is an open format that can be processed by second and

third party applications. In addition, the format can be read into standard

spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel as show in figure 20.
